Comcast has officially started offering the new Comcast X1 modem for cable TV.
The X1 will work with existing Comcast Xfinity and Xfios modems as well as the X1 Wireless modems, though the company has only announced the X-series in limited markets.
The new Comcast modem, which we tested, is priced at $89.99, and it is compatible with AT&T, Cox, Charter, CenturyLink, Cox Communications, Comcast Fiber, Dish Network, Disney, ESPN, DirecTV, and Cox Media.
It will be available on Comcast’s retail sites and online through October, and the company says it is shipping the devices to all U.S. retail customers in October.
We have a preview of the new modem, and you can see it in action in our hands-on video.
We also took the new X1 with us to CES, and we had a chance to test out the new router.
