The cable network that launched a cable raceway in the desert last year, and has been working on a cable cover wall since, is finally back in the mainstream.
“A New Beginnings” follows the adventures of a group of teenagers who have to take on the toughest challenges imaginable in order to get their lives together and survive the coming apocalypse.
Written by Fox Searchlight Pictures and Dreamworks, the new film is an adaptation of a comic by Rob Tapert that ran on the cable network in 2016.
As of today, it’s a $40 million domestic production.
“It’s a big, big tentpole, so we’re going to be able to take a lot of that on,” said Todd Hollis, Fox Searchforce president and chief creative officer.
“It’s the perfect opportunity to get a new look at our characters and our show, and really do it on our terms.
We’ll be able have some fun with it, because it’s not just about the kids getting out of there.”
The film stars Olivia Munn, Kevin Hart, and Tom Sizemore, and stars Liam Hemsworth, Will Arnett, and Mandy Moore.
It also stars a young Sarah Paulson as a former high school teacher who goes on a journey to find her missing son.
“We’re thrilled that we’ve got some of the best talent in the world working on this film,” said Hollis.
“I think it’s an excellent first step.”
